The Belek region on the Mediterranean coast is located 30 kilometers on the side of Antalya province. Recently it was chosen by the Tourism Ministry to be a tourism model not just for today's tourist, but also for the tourist of the next thousand years.
Belek is a modern resort and everything has been designed with the holidaymaker in mind. Most of the hotels lead down to the beach, a vast expanse of course golden sand, which stretches in both directions as far as the eye, can see. The region is very rich in flora and fauna as it hosts various habitats with different characteristics such as forest, river, stream, agricultural areas, aquatic habitats and sand dunes. While five-star tourism establishments, summerhouses and arbours occupy an important portion of the beach; there is no construction in one part. Most part of the region is under protection regulations such as "Belek Specially Protected Area" and "First Degree Natural Site".
